Wellsite Stratigraphers: Fugro Robertson Ltd.




OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
The post holder will be employed in the capacity of Wellsite Stratigrapher at the Fugro Robertson head office based in Llandudno, North Wales. The purpose of the role is to undertake biostratigraphic analysis, either in the office or at wellsite locations. The post holder will be required to work at a microscope and write technical reports. KEY TASKS: ·To undertake for clients as required biostratigraphic (either micropalaeontological, nannopalaeontologogical or palynological) analysis of samples, either in the office or at wellsite. ·To provide log slides ·Provide interpretations and correlations of biostratigraphic data GENERAL TASKS: ·Work as part of a team ·Update and improve skills and knowledge base. ·To attend Training and Development courses/workshops as deemed necessary. ·To support and undertake such other functions and responsibilities as are required from time to time and where it is deemed relevant and advantageous to the operations. ·Work in accordance with Quality, Security and Health and Safety processes. ·To be part of a proactive team of staff responsible for delivering a high quality customer-focused professional service

Required Skills/Experience: You must be able to produce accurate technical reports in English and, preferably, be confident at presenting results of studies to colleagues and clients.

Given the nature of the work, you must be willing and able to travel at times required by the company, pass any necessary medical checks and attend oilrig survival training courses.

Desired Skills/Experience: Ideal candidates will have significant experience of working in a similar role in the oil and gas industry. Experience from an academic/research background would also be an advantage.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold an MSc degree (or equivalent) qualification in a related topic (micropalaeontology, nannopalaeontology or palynology.
Desired Qualifications: Ideally; the candidate's MSc will be supported by a doctorate degree.
